Food was decent. I enjoyed every single dish we ordered. Service was attentive. I definitely liked the ambiance, which I think made the experience even better. That being said, it’s a good place if you are in the area already.

First time ordering from here and I expected more. Just like the other reviews that ordered takeout, my order was extremely subpar! Not only is it overpriced but it lacks flavor, and care for a to-go order. I got the sesame chicken because it was labeled as popular on Uber eats…idk how but my food was DRY, no sauce that the chicken was cooked in and there was one lovely cute broccoli on top..ONE. I even asked for extra sauce from cooking to be added in when packaging up the chicken; still received dry food. I was better off going to one of the regular local Chinese spots up the block where the food is made with care and it’s substantial for HALF the price I paid at Wei’s. And they at least add a regular amount of broccoli because that’s standard. Seems like they need to treat their take out orders with the same love and care they use for guests that dine in; those dine-in meal pics actually look appetizing. The pictures are literally night and day!

Amazing soup dumplings and noodle soups (at a great price too!). The decorations are so cute and overall a great experience. It was very quick service and the cocktails looks so cute! It’s kind of in a weird location but definitely check it out. The only bad thing I could say is that some of my soup dumplings cracked and let out the soup before picking it up from the steam container.

Salt & pepper shrimp was so well seasoned & crisped perfectly, not overly battered. Get the pork soup dumplings for sure! Shrimp dumplings were nice, only thing is they were just a tad bit overly steamed, nonetheless tasty! Get the (veggie) fried rice ! It was so so fresh omg I’ll for sure be back.
Cocktails: puka puka & lyn mae SO good!
Also shoutout to the lovely hostess with the pixie cut

TLDR: Beautiful interior, disgusting food, terrible service, just don't come unless you want to swing in, have a beer/drink for 5 min and get some nice photos of inside.

Food was tasteless, had the dumplings scallion pancake and bbq pork bun. Everything was obviously frozen, food came out extremely fast but they serve lukewarm food. No flavor to any of these dishes even after drowned in chili oil and hot sauce. Got a Tsingtao beer and it was warm. Fried chicken dumplings are soggy, bbq pork bun probably had about half an oz of meat in the whole bun. The scallion pancake was stale, not flaky at all, so flavorless it was just beyond my imagination. Also had the mapo tofu, flavor finally came but the tofu was completely off, instead of soft tofu they use firm tofu and just makes the whole dish very unpleasant. Out of the whole meal the most I ate out of any dish was about 4 spoonfuls of white rice covered in mapo tofu sauce. Interior is beautiful but I wish they would've done the same with the bathroom, interior makes you feel you are at a nice proper restaurant and the bathroom makes you feel like you stepped into below chinese fast food spot.

Service was extremely subpar, waitress didn't seem to care at all about anything, extremely unmotivated didn't seem like any of the staff even want to work here. While leaving, we were blocked by a server and a host in the only doorway entering/exiting the restaurant while smoking cigarettes, not the end of the world but is it really that hard to walk 2 feet into the street where you are not directly smoking and having second hand smoke go into the dining room. All honesty, while service was terrible at best, but I can't even say I really blame any of the service staff. The decor is beautiful but literally everything else about the restaurant makes it so unbearable. Even as a customer I barely wanted to stay there, I can't imagine what it's like to be service staff here and have to see this everyday. Customers are most likely constantly not finishing food or are just completely turned away by it. The waitress had came up to ask if we were finished with our dishes and after she began to clear some plates (one plate had all the scallion pancake still there except for two) she didn't even seem surprised that we had not finished it.

Please save yourself the trouble and do not come here, honestly even as a last resort I would rather have quite literally anything else but this, the cheapest cup noodle you can find will have more flavor in it than the dishes here. Fast food, random halal cart, even deli food is substantially better than this place.

For the owners, if you're going to use frozen food pick better quality at least and not complete bottom shelf stuff. The concept isn't terrible but the lack of effort and/or inexperience from upper management/owners is very apparent from the food to service to cocktails.

Make no mistake about it, one can rest easy knowing that if they leave the theater, hitch a train back to Brooklyn, and want to explore late night eats; they can do so with many options. However; when returning from a night event, or wanting to cap off a special night with good food, great atmosphere, and desired service, Wei’s is a unmistakable choice.

Amidst this cities incalculable offerings, New York offers something unique among them all; the night out in New York. A night filled with energy, revelry, in and out of subways stops, passing through streets and neighborhoods all in an effortless blur. The capstone of such nights is always the late night meal at the end, one that ushers in one last chorus before the song ends and threads the concluding notes of the evening.

Such a place must balance the energy, the vibes, the atmosphere, and of course the service. Wei’s is such a place. Enjoy
