Absolutely loved it! If you are looking for traditional Bavarian cuisine in a normal village setting, this is the perfect spot. The server spoke great English and the food was perfect. I had the schnitzel with potato salad and a beer. The price was very reasonable. I ate here twice that week and would have gone again if my wife had let me. Good stuff!

The place is alright, comfy and the service is excellent, however it's a bit on the pricey side of the spectrum in relation to their value. A couple of dishes were good, but we had a taste of the fish and... Well, everyone agreed it tasted like OLD fish. Perhaps we were only unlucky, but fair warning.

After a long travel, we sat ourself down wit a cool beer on a nice Tara's under big trees. This give sunny places and places with shadow.
Afcource the beer was great, but the food with it made it complete.

The crew is very nice and speak many languages.

Since we live just a few hundred meters away from Alte Post, we were so excited when it reopened...until we actually went.

Our first attempt ended before it really started as it took the waitress 10 mins to attend to our table and 20 mins until we received our drinks. We shook it off as, “they’re just opening up and have some bugs to work out...we’ll try again another time once they figure things out”.

So, two months later we figured we would try again. This time we were “welcomed” by the wait staff ignoring us when we asked for a table. Then when we sorted a table ourselves, we did not get service for about 10 mins. Ok, it was a hot day and they were pretty full...again, we would cut them some slack. Our waitress was nice enough (that’s why they get 2 stars and not 0) and tried her best.

However, when the food came it was really substandard (which is a shame because it was so good 10 years ago!), totally expensive and we were charged full price for the child portion we ordered, and were charged for tap water for our daughter. We were told she was getting the child portion of food and that the water would be free. When the waitress was confronted about this she said, “there wasn’t an option for the child portion when I was booking the food...it doesn’t exist”. And, if you look at the menu you see that the Käsespatzle does in fact come in a child portion for a cheaper price. And charging for tap water would be fine if when we asked for it we were told this would be the case (1.50€ for 0.2).

All in all, my family and I are super bummed that we can’t frequent Alte Post due to the poor service, lacking food quality, and high prices. We were so looking forward to making that our regular place.

However, if you want to go there just for a beer - then it’s probably fine....
