Came to town with my wife for business/pleasure trip. Company booked the inn for me so didn't know what to expect. Now I can say we really enjoyed my stay here. Staff was very accommodating and kind. We got one of the bigger rooms with big bed, kitchen nicely equipped and very spacious bathroom. Only not so positive on the room for me would be the shower. Very small for an average person.

Restaurant downstairs very cozy. Nice menu and food was delicious. Again, staff very accommodating and attentive. Nice ambiance and decorations true to area.

Recommend this inn for anyone that wants to be treated well and have a true Selb experience.

It is right in the middle of town next to the church and town hall. Can't be more centered than that. Everything within walking distance.

I liked this little informal guesthouse just fine until one night when I actually needed something... and there was not a soul on the premises to help me! You see, there is no office or reception area at all... so, when the little restaurant is closed, as it is this Saturday night, there is no one at all to trouble-shoot. They give only one key to each couple... on a big, old-fashioned brass fob... so, when my partner went out to the music festival and I needed to leave the hotel to get some food, I couldn’t do it! There’s a door at the entrance to the stairs that requires a key, and the front door to the guesthouse also requires a key. Plus, you need a key if you want to lock your room. I went downstairs to look for someone who could lend me another key, and not only was there no one on the premises, but there was not even a phone number posted for someone to call in case of an emergency. So be warned about that. Otherwise, this guesthouse is a reasonably good value, and one of the people here, Ramona, speaks some English (rare in this part of Franconia). Breakfasts are the traditional spread of fresh rolls, cold cheeses and sliced meats, with boiled eggs, fresh fruits, yogurt, and muesli also available. There are Coffee, Tea, and Juices to drink. Evening meals are freshly prepared rib-sticking traditional German dishes, heavy on the pork, spaetzle, and potato croquettes. Locally brewed Weissbier and Pilsner are available on draft. Bedrooms are sparsely but adequately furnished with unfinished wood furniture and wood laminate floors. The television screen mounted on the wall is very small, and I couldn’t find a remote. There is a Bosch tea brewing machine in the room, and a roomy wardrobe with plenty of shelves. The bathroom and shower are spacious, though I was disappointed to find that there was no bathtub for soaking. If you are fond of reading in bed, don’t book Room #2... the molding at the top of the headboard just out so far that it prevents your being able to lean against it... a ludicrous design. However, you will enjoy real down comforters and pillows. Conveniently located right in downtown Selb, this guesthouse has two Turkish kebab places only steps away, three big banks a little farther away, and a huge supermarket and pharmacy/general store a 15-minute walk away. The Rosenthal porcelain outlet complex is just a little farther, and features the fabulous Fabrik cafe. In short, book this guesthouse if you want to be walking distance of the annual Festival Mediaval or other event, but not if you’re planning to spend lots of time in your room. For that, you would need a few more creature comforts, as well as a resident innkeeper who is available for help after hours.

Das Essen war sehr gut und definitiv frisch zubereitet. Der Inhaber und die Servicekraft sehr aufmerksam und herzlich. Mein Mann konnte das Gericht wie gewünscht umstellen. Wer in Selb ist sollte dieses Restaurant auf jeden besuchen.
