I have to say that Mei Wei is very disappointing.
The medium-rare beef turned out to be fully cooked, and the fried rice noodles were so soft that you couldn't taste the flavor of the rice noodles.
The only difference between braised pork ribs and fried pork ribs was that there was a little more braised meat juice on top.
The appetizers were the best but they were very salty.
The most incredible thing is that desserts are served with the main meal together in the same time. Should I eat dessert first or eat the main course first and watch the ice melt?
The training of the staff there may not be complete.
They are so messy that they don’t know what they are doing.
They miscalculated the money.
The meals were not given to us but they kept saying they were. These things all happened to us.
Also, the dining area is extremely small, so it’s not the best for large parties.
This place is built on Taiwanese nostalgia, but doesn’t live up to the hype.

We came here a few occasions, first time leaving a review. I enjoyed the fried pork and rice previously. Not sure what happened this time, something doesn’t taste as good as previously. I think a small soup will be better with the rice and fried pork.

However, my wife loved her beef noodles. It was sold out previously. The beef stew rice is pretty good as well.

Great casual eatery!! Super glad this has opened in the Carrollton area.

Food court style - Good portion sizes for the price, meals are served on trays and they have extra bowls/utensils for sharing.
Braised pork on rice was good and the beef noodle soup was pretty solid.

Will be back for more comfort food and dessert 🙂

Rather new Taiwanese restaurant, just stop by to get it a try. Got fired pork chops, it's kinda dry. Beef noodle soup is up to pal, fried tofu tasted good, cut into very small pieces. They are kind of like cafeteria food but charging restaurant price. Maybe either improve food quality and offer combo discount to better retain customers.

An interesting Taiwanese restaurant + dessert place where you get a $2 discount on select dessert items per order.

We have gone here 2 times now, one time dining in and one time to go. Service is quick and the employees are really friendly.

I've had the Basil chicken, the chicken rice plate, the fried pork rice plate and a pork belly rice plate.

The Basil chicken did have bone in it, which I'm completely fine with an had good flavor. Fried chicken rice was definitely a lot better than some other Taiwanese restaurant chains. The fried pork rice was really good albeit it was a bit thin. The pork belly rice was good as usual, though with all pork belly dishes, I can only handle so much.

Each plate came with a soy egg, which was too boiled but I still like, and some broccoli that needed like 30 more seconds of blanching in my opinion.

Now the dessert was really good and I would come back for. I enjoyed the taro ball dessert and the mango sago was good too.

Definitely my new Taiwanese restaurant place that I will be returning to.

Wow this place is good! Hard to spot if you’re not paying attention and it’s in a small building, other than that the food is amazing, the fried pork chop tasted freshly fried and not sitting in the back like some other places, the flavors come out when eating this, the beef noodle soup has really good flavor and the service is fast just go up to the counter, order and they give you a beeper. Overall I had a good time at this location we will be back!

Its a small place serving typical taiwanese dishes. I did not have the usual stuff but decided to try the dinner dishes. My choice was disappointing. Nothing at all like what I am used to. The buburchacha was not very bubur at all. The coconut used tasted artificial and I had to scrape off the taros bits as it tasted sour. The mango, red beans, sago and the chewy balls were fine. Portion for the stirfry was disappointing for the price.

They just opened so I’m sure they are ironing things out. We used to go to their Frisco location and everything was always good but there were certainly things that could be improved on when we went to this location today. We ordered the fried pork and rice set with popcorn chicken. It was very crowded and the food took a long time to come out (hopefully this will get better in time). The flavor of everything was good but the fried pork cutlet had two big pieces (on each end) that were all fried breading. It looked like the cutlet was a certain size but the meat parts of the two end slices fell out when it was cut or something It was just all breading and no meat, which meant we only got four slices of meat and it felt like we didn’t get our money’s worth. Also they forgot to give us our popcorn chicken and we had to go back and ask for it. It was a small portion for the price. We didn’t try their dessert offering but will go back to try them some other time. Hope the experience is better if we come back.
