The waiter was dishonest and not transparent.

Firstly, when I asked for an itemized breakdown before paying, and he just pretended like he didn’t understand and ignored us. He just requested us to pay (which I naively did), and then I found out that they charge for serving tap water

Besides, he did not ask how much I wanted to tip, he just included an additional few euros without asking me. I understand that it’s normal to tip someone for restaurants with table service and I would have done so, but I just felt very odd that this waiter did not had the courtesy to ask?

I had to go up to him to request for an itemized receipt, and he looked unpleasant when I asked for it? As an Asian visiting an Austrian restaurant. I found it very upsetting and I felt that this waiter did it to target tourist like us.

Otherwise, the food and environment is great.

Cozy location and good beer, but very poor service

We visited Meidlinger Alm and while we didn’t try the food, the beer was great and the place itself had a warm, cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. The waiter seemed grumpy and inattentive — at one point he disappeared for about 20 minutes, and when we finally tried to pay, he walked away in the middle of the conversation. It really took away from the overall experience, which is a shame given the nice setting.

Nice restaurant with decent food. Most of the tables are outside, and when we went there it was raining before that, but they helped us clean them. In general everyone was friendly. The place also has a toilet, but it is outside of the building and you have to ask for the keys. We actually ate there multiple times, because it was the best restaurant nearby.

Absolutely top Austrian cuisine and traditional dishes! From a classic Wiener Schnitzel to hearty Fleischplatten or even vegetarian options – they really have it all. The food is freshly prepared, with very little waiting time, and everything tastes authentic and delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. There’s plenty of seating outside, so it’s perfect for enjoying a meal in the sun for summer flair in Meidling

Very disappointed when the waiter act like he doesn’t understand us and added about 25% tips without our consent. Just read the reviews and realized this is a repeated offense towards other customers. It’s ashamed that the food is pretty ok but the action of the waiter is dishonest. Leaves us with a bad taste even after the great food….

And charges for tap water? Questionable…

Really good and cute place to visit, the waitress was friendly and super quick, food was good and not too hot, not too cold. It was raining a little bit but we still got to sit out and the nice waitress opened the huge umbrellas 😅

The food was good, but I was surprised that the service dude added over 22% tip without even asking. I didn’t authorize that amount, I would like to choose the tip percentage myself, I have been there two days ago and 12-3% is the amount I paid last time. Although it’s just two dollars extra, this just felt so disrespectful. I normally wouldn’t leave a review, but this is just so lack of transparency and disrespectful.
