This place attracts a local crowd and serves German food typical for this region. The seating area outside is very nice, partly covered in vines, wheras the indoor seating is more rustic and rather dated.
The food was OK, and of good quality, but lacked a personal touch. The menu has lots of items that involve (local) processed pork meat (sausage, ham, schnitzel), and -in our opinion- could have had some more lean protein items, fish or balanced vegetarian options. There were no desserts or sweets at all.
The service style was quite rustic and many waiters/waitresses were young and seemed inexperienced or minimally trained (“I can’t recommend a wine, I’ve never tried red wine”).
A positive surprise is the fair price level. Coming from the Netherlands, it’s sheer joy to pay less than €3,00 for a cappuchino. Come with cash, you can’t pay by card!

All things added, this place offers decent local food in a nice atmosphere - if you’re lucky to sit outside-, but lacks a spark of local pride. And it lacks card payment terminal and a dessert option.

Zur Junkermühle owners: is there really not a single farm around that could supply ice cream or yoghurt? Or a bakery that could supply a nice local cake variety? Come on, you can do better!
